"Two Sarasota men were arrested Tuesday and accused of human sex trafficking, the Sarasota Police Department reports."

"The men were arrested. A search of their vehicle found other drugs and a handgun.

The victim is in her 20s. It is unclear whether there are more victims.

“It’s hard to say whether this is more than an isolated event,” said Officer Sean Carter at a Wednesday news conference. “This is still an ongoing investigation and more evidence could develop as we proceed.”"

"The victim is not facing criminal charges and has been referred to Selah Freedom, a national organization dedicated to helping victims of sex trafficking.

“This is happening in our own backyard to girls who you would never anticipate it happening to,” said Elizabeth Fischer Good, the co-founder and CEO of Selah Freedom in Sarasota."

"“I cannot speak highly enough of the law enforcement involved in this case,” Fisher Good said. “It shows that partnerships in the community can come together to end sex trafficking.”"
